
Theory Today: A Seminar by Nathan Brown
Nathan Brown is Professor of English and founding director of the Center for Expanded Poetics at Concordia University, Montreal. He is the author of three monographs — The Limits of Fabrication (2017), Rationalist Empiricism (2021), and Baudelaire's Shadow (2026) — and the translator of Baudelaire's The Flowers of Evil (2025). His current book project, The Irony of Ground: Studies in the Poetics of Romantic Modernity, traces the enduring relevance of Jena Romanticism through case studies in poetry, fiction, music, architecture, painting, and cinema from the 1790s to the present.
