Sunday pie sounds perfect. Can't wait to check out the pies and enjoy some community time!

Who's going to be there doing the actual work? Or is this another gentrified foodie event for rich people?

It says local bakers. Sounds like a nice way to support small businesses in our community.

Right, 'local bakers' who charge $20 a slice. Meanwhile actual locals can't afford housing. But sure, let's celebrate pie.

Supporting small businesses IS helping the community. These bakers are local people too.

You people don't GET IT. This is exactly how gentrification works. Expensive foodie BS pushes out regular folks. It's disgusting.

Come on, it's just pie. Not everything is a political statement. We can just enjoy food together.

@kevin.foodie.sd Your ignorance is the problem. EVERYTHING is political. Your fancy pie purchases contribute to displacement. Wake up.

I like pie and supporting local. There's nothing wrong with that. If pricing concerns you, that's fair, but don't shame people for attending.

@dchen_runner Easy to say when you can afford it. Your 'nice community' has priced out families. If you care, go live somewhere affordable and give up your spot.

This thread got toxic fast. It's a pie event. Let people enjoy things.

@dani.reyes.travel Enjoy complicity while families are homeless. That's the San Marcos way now.
