Does it matter if you're Catholic? I was raised that way but don't practice anymore

I'd love to! Is this a large group or more intimate?

@davidm.outdoors You don't need to be Catholic or even religious! It's about the music and community. Come check it out

This is great! Are there any fee or does the church provide music sheets?

Such a beautiful church. Love being part of this faith community here

The priest's homily last week was really moving. Grateful for this space

This church needs to step up and actually practice what Jesus taught instead of just talking about it

  James Chen · 3d

What do you mean? What specific issue are you referring to?

• L

  Lauren Thompson · 3d

I mean, they're not doing ANYTHING about homeless people in our neighborhood. Jesus literally said to help the poor, but instead they're concerned about property values and 'neighborhood character.' It's hypocritical

• E

  Emma Kowalski · 3d

Actually, St. John has donated thousands to homeless services. You clearly haven't done your research before attacking them

• L

  Lauren Thompson · 2d

Donating money is easy. What about actually letting homeless people SLEEP in the church? Or letting nonprofits use the basement? They could DO MORE but they won't because they care more about being a country club for rich people than living out their faith

@laurenthompson.vet seriously? The church has a winter shelter program AND they run a food pantry twice a week. Maybe actually attend before criticizing?

• L

  Lauren Thompson · 2d

Oh, so you're one of those 'good Christians' who thinks having a food pantry means they can ignore systemic poverty? This church is full of hypocrites like you who want to feel good about charity without actually sacrificing anything

• D

  Daniela Castro · 2d

@laurenthompson.vet Don't bother. People like @laurenthompson.vet have already made up their minds that we're all villains. No amount of facts will change that

• L

  Lauren Thompson · 2d

Facts? You calling yourself good Christians while homeless people freeze is NOT a fact, it's a FANTASY. Move to the suburbs if you don't want to deal with real suffering

This got way too hostile. I just came here to see what masses were available...
